Truth

JOSIE ECKERT

I glance at the photo on my wall, my dad's face glaring down at me, I can see the disappointment through the photo. My dad is one of the kings of the land, he wants me to be the perfect little princess, the one that goes to dances and wears fancy gowns but I'm not. I'm the princess that no one knows about, the princess hidden in a little cabin in the woods, the princess that messed up, the princess in the blood stained dress. The door to my cabin creaks open letting the wind inside the wind whistling through my floor sounds like soft crying, I hate it, it reminds me of when my dad cried after the funeral, the funeral that ended my life the day I made the mistake, the day that I was locked up, the day I accidentally told the truth, the day I broke.
