DARBY

When I first heard I would have to swim the 200 free, I was dreading it and I was so nervous that the other swimmers would instantly power ahead of me, but I followed through to the end. I asked my mom what event she signed me up for for the upcoming swim meet later that week, and when I heard she signed me up for the 200 free, I was really nervous because I knew that freestyle was my least favorite stroke. My face was like this: 😩! But there was no un-signing up for it, I had no choice but to do it. And so I did, and then I actually ended up winning it! It was one of the greatest moments in my life. I remember slamming my hands into the wall, breathless but beaming, and looking up at the bleachers and seeing my friend Danby cheering like crazy, and then I looked around and saw the other swimmers had not touched the wall yet! In the end, I was really proud of myself for persevering and doing the 200 free, and then ending up winning it!
